Nicolas had traveled from New Orleans that night, to the City of Miami, by supernatural means, using a gift that was not very pleasant due to the weightlessness that this gave him, made him feel as if he really was a ghost and not the vampire in flesh and blood he was.
He entered into the Villa dei Misteri, to where it was supposed would be waiting for him the red-haired vampire, He look towards the beach and sigh, seeing the sea extending up to join the dark sky, a sky devoid of stars and moon, making it even more scary , to mortal eyes, but for him it was just like looking into himself.
Paintings. When he stopped hanging them on two opposite walls , Armand sat on the office leather chair staring at ‘Concierto’, that slightly reminded him of the old times in Italy. Would Nicolas like these artworks?
There was a sound in the Villa dei Misteri and Armand knew that Nicolas was already there. Soundlessly, he went to the reception room and saw the violinist watching the beach through the large open glass window. “You flied, Nicolas. ” The sky was empty that night, looking like black pitch. Armand knew that the flight was not very entertaining but the thought that Nicolas flied made him smile. “You are a strong vampire now.” he continued .

Nicolas turns his face when he felt the other vampire, sarcastically smiled and nodded.
- So it was, Armand - the vampire replied, and walked a few steps and hold your violin - not a very pleasant experience, but here I am, fulfilling the promise.
He take a look around on him, the place was totally full of paintings in many styles, obviously, that place belong to Armand, only armand can have a place like that.

The vampire bowed his head in a theatrical welcoming gesture , pretending not to notice the sarcasm on Nicolas’ smile.
‘And you brought your violin through this flight. Congratulations!’ he clapped his hands making a step towards Nicolas with a smile on his lips moved to the door and opened it.
In an instant the two were in Armand’s office that was decorated with a few paintings of violins and violinists. ‘Take a seat and make yourself comfortable here. You had a long, uncomfortable flight.’ he said pointing to a leather chair. ‘Now tell me, when did you start flying? How was the experience of your first flight?’Nicolas raised an eyebrow suspiciously, as he walked to the chair that he had said the redhead.
I take a seat and left the violin in his lap. Cough before answering.
- It was a long time, I do not remember exactly when - he said - and it was as it always has been an unpleasant experience, I feel like I really was a ghost.
Armand looked perplexed and surprised at the violin Nicolas has left in his lap. Why did he do that? He took the bow and slid it along the strings once, making a loud sound that expressed nothing.
‘I’d rather play some piano notes.’ the vampire spoke briefly, amused by the sound he made. Then his attention was focused on Nicolas’ words.‘A ghost you say…’ he brought his hand under his chin , pondering on Nicolas’ words. ‘I am not fond of the flight either…but…like a ghost?’
He frowned and took the violin in an angry gesture. - Do not ever touch it - he said and remain silent while the violin was still on his lap, keeping it at him apprehensively.
-Yes - he says - Is cold, and alone up there… I feel like really I’m lost and I can’t see a path to follow.
Flashbacks came into Armand’s mind as he heard Nicolas asking him not to touch his musical instrument. He put the bow back on the violin, lifted his hands like a delinquent that was just caught off guard and gave the other vampire an inoffensive smile , his brow raising slowly. He continued to analyze the expression on Nicolas’ face and gestures. Anger. Frustration. Even a sort of anxiety, Overprotective, as if he was holding a helpless pet in his hands.
Coldness and loneliness. This was what the violinist felt when he flied. Armand leaned against the back of the chair , listening to the other. What he had experienced when he was up there as a slight discomfort and the annoying effect of gravitation and the blow of the cold or warm winds. “So you prefer to be in company of someone when you fly? Why didn’t you ask me to fly with you?”
I prefer not to fly - he says - While I still have a body, I’ll prefer use the mortal methods to travel.
Nicolas sigh, feeling somewhat uncomfortable by the way Armand watched. He carried a hand to his forehead, rubbing his temples and sighed again at length.

“It seems that most of us avoid the flight. It does give an unpleasant sensation.” Armand replied remembering the countless times he has chose an airplane instead of his vampiric power to fly. “Mortal methods are more efficient. Slower, indeed, but more efficient.”
“Thank you for accepting my invitation, Nicolas.I haven’t seen you for very long time and having you here gives me a good feeling, even if you don’t seem too happy with it. Now look around and tell me, do you like these artworks? ” He pointed his fingers towards the paintings. “I bought them through auctions. The violinists reminded me of you.”
Nicolas raised an eyebrow, looking curiously to the redhaired vampire.
-You really are creepy, Armand - said half smiling. He looked away watching the curious paintings that Armand had acquired, without saying anything, just keep quiet.
- Why do violinists? -Wonder - Or is it that if you feel guilty conscience, so what do you did to me? - lifted one of his hands, showing his wrist.

Nay, I was never informed by your own lips there was only Lestat and your violin. You never intended to leave behind a lineage, Nicolas? What would become of you if you were unable to become a creature of the night?
laughs - Well I have many options - says -My father wanted to be a lawyer, I wanted to be a violinist at all costs - smiled - But the most provable is that starving would have ended in some dirty alley in Paris.
Yes, they are the strongest of bonds as far as I have seen with my own eyes. They are to be kept together with their kin, but if they are together, they become more foolish. Act in a foolish manner to reveal the other cannot do it without the pressure of hands upon their shoulders. What of your own kin, Nicolas?
Kin? My father died a long time ago - answered - And my only real kin was Lestat, but now He’s not - says - I don’t have kin. I’ll know that sound sad, maybe, but is the true.

He was desperate, had no way of knowing where to locate Louis, and being honest with himself, he did not want Louis was there.
Long sigh, standing in the hallway, waiting for the doctor to out to give good news. He closed his eyes sitting in a chair, charging all his weight forward, putting his elbows on his knees, covering his face with his hands. Suddenly he had been eager to mourn, but could not, at least not in publicand even less in a hospital.
The doctor emerged from one of the rooms at the end of the hall after almost an hour, walking toward Nicki. He nodded, saying, “He’s stable and asking for you, I’m assuming that your name is Nicki.. He lost alot of blood, so he’s not be entirely coherent. He’s lucky that you brought him in when you did, otherwise he may have not made it. You can go ahead and sit in there with him, if you’d like.” He stepped out of the way, walking past him. He had other patients to attend to. The nurses would be able to handle Lestat on their own.
Nicholas I look at the doctor, so calm with which he spoke, he had probably seen worse than that. He sighed deeply, shook his head and stood up.
Nicolas walks heavily, even wanting to mourn. He walk into the room in silence.
-Lestat - whisper approaching the bed, sitting next to him, taking his hand -. I’m sorry
